ICAMB organised the HICoE Strategic Direction Workshop from 20 to 22 January 2026 in Penang, officiated by the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Ibrahim.

The workshop was attended by Prof. ChM. Dr. Suhaimi Suratman, Director of the UMT Research Management Office (RMO), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Isa Abdul Majid, ICAMB Visiting Professor; Prof. Dato’ Dr. Amirul Al-Ashraf Balakrishnan Abdullah from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM); and Prof. Dr. Chong Shu Chien @ Alexander, also from USM.

The programme focused on strategic planning for ICAMB’s HICoE initiatives over the next 3 years, with emphasis on achieving the established key performance indicators (KPIs) and aligning ICAMB’s organisational structure and research agenda with the requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

ICAMB was officially awarded HICoE status effective 1 January 2026.
