Unlocking the Power of Artemia: A Key Player in Resilient Aquaculture

A lecture session by Emeritus Prof. Dr. Sergaloos was held on 23 October 2025 at the Sulaiman Auditorium, PSNZ, UMT. He delivered a lecture titled “Unlocking the Power of Artemia: A Key Player in Resilient Aquaculture”.

In his presentation, he highlighted the significant potential of Artemia in strengthening the aquaculture sector. He explained that Artemia offers various opportunities for industry development and has proven to be an effective platform for producing successful Artemia farmers and entrepreneurs.

Today, Artemia has become a key subject of interest not only in the ASEAN region but also globally, including in the Americas and Africa. Advances in Artemia cultivation continue to grow, and this organism is now recognised not only as an important feed source for fish larvae and aquaculture species, but also as a promising alternative protein source for human consumption.
